Murder or no?

Murder or no in Minneapolis? What say you? Can we count on the Minneapolis Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to arrest, try and punish the policeman who killed a black citizen in his 'custody'? We can count on police/citizen relations to be permanently damaged in America now. Rioting goes unpunished or controlled in liberal Democrat cities. Baby clothes, air fryers and TV's off with looters. A police station and Auto Zone, for starters, torched by looters. Cries for justice heard at every interview. So what's new after another black death at the hands of a white cop? Nothing! I saw the video in question with concluding that an unjustifiable death occurred. Now what?  Beats me who feels and knows we have lost our beloved country.

Two out

A relative closed out a conversation with me saying, "Take care of yourself and don't get into trouble." No No," I said, "I can't take care of myself because I am not in control of what happens day by day and trouble always seems to find me."  So out  out for those two suggestions.  After a brief silence for thought, I suggested ending the session with "God Bless you!"  Clever huh?

The Scream

We ignore our President going to 2 memorials commemorating the fallen in war but we have ABC radio profile a veteran who commits suicide as a Memorial Day tribute.  How much farther can  mighty America fall? Nothing can be done but laugh or scream at the nonsense I hear everyday. Social distancing and masks are  now obsessions. Fear encouraged. Meanwhile, Reality creeps into the narrative, one person at a time.

Beat this...

How much more nutty can it get when a person dons a face mask to mow the lawn on a riding mower? Fresh air kills now? The candidate lives with another candidate in a home indoors all year long anyway. Right? Beat this example of our society gone insane.

Kill the virus

Isn't it time to kill the deadly virus called Joe Biden? Insulting every  Black American who did not vote Democrat as a Whitee and Uncle Tom is just racist. I think he should be tortured to death. How and by whom?  1st deliverer says to The Groper, I am a Black conservative; here's my 1st blow.  2nd deliverer says to the Liar, I am a Black Republican, here's my next blow. 3rd deliverer says to the rich hypocrite, I am a thinking human being, here's my triple take on your evil ways. 4th deliverer could  me - if given the chance - to say to the cowardly disgrace of all Catholics, here's my coup de grace which will deliver you into the hands of the Devil whom you have served your entire political life. What do you suggest as the implement of torture?

Fifth gripe

With innumerable gripes to choose from, today I present a 5th gripe (far surpassing yesterday's four). Did you know that "suicide prevention is everyone's responsibility?" An advocacy for vets who are "not good" appears often on the radio. Pathetic misrepresentation and agenda-driven nonsense. We are not all in this together against the Covid-19; we are all not accountable for some other person's action. Period. Put personal responsibility on the person  not on society or other individuals. A helping hand is good, but self-help is better.

Four gripes

Four big gripes for today. 1. Offering a draft pic to sports organizations that hire blacks as coaches or executives. Talk about racism? 2. Threats by politicians with power to people who violate their rules for social distancing and restaurant capacities. Orwellian anyone? 3. A company (innovative at that) selling custom masks called "emblem shield." I hear they are useless. 4. Hearing the empty mind called Joe Biden say "we can change the science related to global warming." Really? After these big 4 insanities in one morning, how can I prepare for lunch (or dinner) without figuring that this lunch or dinner might be my last?

Why not shop?

In the  midst of Covid-19 insanity, why not leave the house to shop near my home?  Local bakery for $16.00 and local Dollar store for $9.00. then swing back to the old homestead for lunch and another day of quiet living. Too bad there is nothing new about this routine for over 20 years so any 'quarantine' is irrelevant. Since I've been through the disease (virus) and my man exposed, we're  harmless, I say, harmless... and insignificant.

Not like the other

Which one of these insanities is not like the other? Hear our Governor ass  tell us how to open Day Care centers with less than 6 kids under one supervisor, distancing and masks.  Hear about  the 14 day challenge with rough greens for dogs who are picky eaters since all dog foods are incomplete (after over a 100 years of research to produce a complete food). Hear phrases like best practices, jump start the economy, new normal, symbolically essential (businesses), virtual activity (in sports). Hear Glenn Beck gush about phenomenal, jaw-dropping stuff like meeting space aliens in our lifetime. Hear about a "small business crisis resource"(which really does nothing. Hear that an eccentric person invents electricity and changes the course of American politics (?).  Lastly, and  most disturbing, hear about a program to help veterans with food,, rent, mortgages, and utilities. What else could I hear about in our insane milieu? All of these insanities are like each other.

Tyranny of ideas

What we are experiencing in the world today is the "heartless tyranny of ideas," a phrase from the great thinker Paul Johnson to characterize intellectualism. Intellectuals do not necessarily think, think about facts, accept facts ( except theirs) or accept reality. Who then do you think are the 'smart' people, the intellectuals who have destroyed America and our planet's highest level of civilization with the coronavirus shutdown? Our Governor ass DeWine parrots every scientists'  and intellectuals' version of a pandemic reality. "Let  your hearts not be troubled," - words of the Lord used today in the Gospel, might be appropriate. Don't you think?

Reject words like "operationalized," "synergy" and "premarily," that I heard used today by 'smart people. Stick to functional words like 'remain calm,' 'don't panic' and 'trust in the Lord.'

No red, white and boom

Oh No, no red, white and boom in Columbus for July 4th celebration - the 1st time in 40 years. We are lost, lost as a state, country, world when this pandemic panic has destroyed reason and common sense.  Lost the concept of risk, lost the acceptance of risk, lost the courage to live. A concomitant tragedy is the worst job report in US history with the unemployment rate at 16% and climbing. What is to be done? Nothing, when ads on the radio lie about 2 times the coverage at less than 1/2 the cost prevail. Select Quote is just one example. When I know we're lost, how can I be optimistic?  You tell me.

Speak authoritarily

Speak authoritarily even though you know nothing and you have the state of the world now. I can state an opinion based on facts or state facts without rendering an opinion. This equals intelligent thought. But we aren't getting any rational behavior or common sense from most of humanity now.  Unfortunately I will miss the opening of virtually all businesses or entertainment venues since we do not patronize them as a matter of habit already. Woe is us! Today's quarantine allowed us to benefit from our 7th swarm. Spring time is an exciting time for bees to set up new hive homes. With the big chill coming, they won't be able to forage for feed. Woe is them! Think global warming is real?

Staycation

Heard about the 'staycation' today, presumably a vacation to stay at home. Well we have been on our staycation since 1984 without a vacation or foray beyond our 5 acre world. No big deal! What we can't escape, however, are stupid ads (the only solution being to turn off the radio completely) about planting trees which will solve hunger, poverty and climate change. Yes, I heard about it today.

Consider the numbers

Since 2000, there have been 430,000 deaths from opiods in the U.S. Believe it or not! So now we have in 2020 in Ohio so far this year, 1000 deaths so far from the coronavirus! Who will believe it or not? No one knows how this pandemic (?) will play out around the world, but who will believe anything by then?

99%

99%  of those who catch the Covid-19 virus do NOT die. Most victims do not get seriously ill. So why such a high level of fear around the world? Lies and misrepresentations fill the airways of course. Power plays and political agendas drive it too. But I want to examine the meaning of fear.  With a 99% or 100% probability that something terrible will result from an action or an illness, I define true fear. Take my example of a bee sting. For sure, 100% of the time I get stung, I'll have a terrible reaction of swelling and pain for days. I fear the close buzzing of a disturbed lady bee. If I might catch a cold or the flu or virus floating around, I do not know how hard I will be hit. I need not fear the consequences. This example, I hope illustrates the madness of the world's population (especially as I hear and see it here in America), driven by fear of the known.

Pet peeve today is the phrase "raffish subculture," whatever it means to some person other than me.
