It's a game, stupid

It's a game you stupid OSU football enterprise! You never in 2019 played a team that was playing football until the playoff game, anyway.  29 - 23. Anger should never be your bond; perhaps immorality, but not anger because in a game - duh - someone wins and someone loses. Usually the better man ( not woman), not always, and if injustice or bad luck contributes to a defeat, remember it's a GAME.  I heard about a car whose "expectations shatter technology" according to an ad the other day on the radio.  Expectations shattered your reality, OSU. Live with it! Incidentally, there's enough money in your football empire to go around and make the booboo hurt a little less.

Christmas Trashover

How humiliating would be a Christmas hangover?  I must unfortunately tell you about a disgusting metaphorical scandal.  On our trip to New Holland to recycle our one bag and one box of paper, we encountered the hangover-like aftermath of  the ENTIRE town's Christmas festivities.  Could you believe that all 5 Rumpke recycling bins were overflowing?  How many irresponsible people live in our small town (700)? Junk, junk, junk - all not recyclable junk.  I swear every inhabitant save Tom and I threw away each and every piece of trash and detritus from Christmas day into the bins which were overflowing with trash most of which was NOT legitimate recycling material.  Oh horrible!  Words cannot express the mess that we encountered.  We were about to take our 2 mere donations home when we found a small hole available in the 5th bin. What did we say about fellow human beings being so inhuman and disgusting? Don't ask.  On to Dollar General we drove to search out 50% off bargains. ( Only 2). But the memory of this scandalous behavior will linger into our New Year.

Christmas

There is nothing on earth more beautiful than a Christmas Mass (except for an Easter Mass). There is nothing sadder in this world than a Normandy Cemetery from WWII or a fallen soldiers brought home on Christmas day.

Become a rational renegade

A news report said that highway messaging over the past year was designed to cut down on auto accidents and fatalities. The next sentence said that fatalities last year were up 8%. I kid you not. "We have sunk to such a depth that the restatement of the obvious has become the first duty of intellectual men."  George Orwell's words say it all, don't they?  Waste, corruption, irrelevance and the uselessness of government being obvious, what can we thinking beings do to remain sane?  Eat, pray, love? Merry Christmas...

Apology

Apology here for being so d... depressed over various pains and inexplicable facts. Today's additional  blight on sanity, however, is hearing about "design aesthetics" in the home remodeling business. OR an ad complaining that one needs to "put aside a whole day" to lease a car. Remember the "mind-forged manacles" in a poem by William Blake?  They pretty much explain my depression and the current depressed state of our American culture. Getting behind the mask of pathetic thinking is hard. Keep at it, however. Any participation in the meaning of December 25 may help you partially succeed.

Depressed as H....

Do you know how to become depressed as H...?  Hear that the publication, Christianity Today gets reality wrong by claiming that President Trump is "morally lost and confused." Pure delusion! Founder Billy Graham's turning over in his grave. So depressing as a well-balanced, thinking Christian. OR, hear that after 32 years on death row an inmate will still not be capitally punished because we do not have a properly approved drug ( so says our Governor).  He's delusional too because guns kill people every day - quickly and humanely.  Lastly, so depressing that secularism has replaced the religious meaning of Christmas. Of course, I'm just thoroughly depressed as a matter of facts. Keep up your spirits!

Recall, recall

Ford has issued recalls for 1000's of cars and trucks. Did we have recalls on this scale of the 1950's muscle cars?  Don't answer this rhetorical question. Next, I heard from nanny news that you should not put a lottery ticket into your Xmas stocking as a stuffer because you might trigger a gambling addiction in the recipient. Of course, never give one to a minor.  Duh! And then this new announcement from our Governor that thanks to Medicaid ( which he expanded), there are 2 new stop- smoking programs (one adult. one youth) offering drugs and counseling. Does he know if anyone wants to quit smoking?  I stood behind an elderly woman yesterday who happily requested 3 packs of Pall Mall cigarettes to add to her cart full of goodies, gladly paying for them too. Now, Trump signed the budget bill which is criminally irresponsible. Duh!  Also, I heard that in 2018, "unintentional drug overdose" deaths are down. "Unintentional"?  When has free will been abolished? Another obvious question you need not answer. Laugh if you will that Dr. Buzz is going to solve your ED problems with anti-aging treatments. Laugh again that 23and me is so 'successful' it reduces its cost from $100 to $70 and adds a 30 trait report. Talk about useless info! Not getting any younger from a little laughter?  You could have laughed  yourself to death watching the last Democrat Presidential debate. The 3 witches of Christmas giving i.e. the 3 devils' in a pod, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and the ghost of Hellary Clinton manifested themselves on stage before the ghostly cauldron of government largess to solve the crisis of victimhood in America. Only a few days to the birth of hope.

Historic

Talking point for left now is "historic." OK, let's cover the 2 historic events today. #1 the phony political impeachment of Trump (with historic Presidential accomplishments, by the way) and #2 the unfortunate shuttering of our New Holland (volunteer) library. Years of good shoved under two separate tables. Oh well, onward and downward as 'they' say. Violence, murders, political correctness, unending, useless, progressive  rules and regulations - all in an atmosphere of holiday spending ignoring truth, justice and the preferred American way paved for us two thousand years ago by the birth of our Savior. Merry Christmas!

500 equals 0

500 Impeachment rallies scheduled for Today? Give me a break; 500 will equal 0 for importance on the scale of reality.  What is real?  2 years / 15 million dollars for some athlete?  Mariah Carey's Xmas song # 1 surpassing the Chipmunks' tune 50 years ago?  An ad for  you to "retire from Honda financially free," followed by the disclaimer that it has nothing to do with Honda! Also, a 16 yr old abused child celebrated as "person of the year?"  In too many places, we are a SICK society. Why hasn't the ancient coming of baby Jesus made a big enough difference?

Extra safe distance

Nanny told me ( again) to maintain "an extra safe stopping distance" because we had snow overnight here in central OHIO. Duh! Are you too 'sickofit'?  To  still feel sick, note that an extensive funeral parlor business brags about their "7 full-time advance funeral planners." Duh! Then too, the news is out that we must ban certain chemicals added to marijuana in vaping products. Duh!  This fact has been known from the beginning but the agenda against tobacco being a priority, deaths from the pollutants in weed MUST BE IGNORED. Christmas season is also a downer because of amnesia about the REAL meaning of the historical event. Out with extreme consumption; in with he poor in spirit.
