If you have died...

"If you have died you may be eligible for substantial financial compensation," having used talc. Yep, the radio ads just lie or abuse language. A biased politician speaks of Trump being "beyond repugnance."  Yep, 19 commercials before and after the 1/2hour and hour, with 1 sentence for news, 2 sentences for weather, and a paragraph for sports interspersed with 5 minutes of the actual radio program of a host.   Yep, I verified it.  Turn off, don't tune in and don't use drugs.  10 overdose deaths in Columbus this weekend.  Yep!

An autumn recess???

What the H... is an autumn recess for the Congress?  They take too many vacations at taxpayers' expense and when in session, Democrats practice criminal intent while Republicans ( mostly) practice cowardice.  Woe is us!  I heard this AM about a "very physical interior finish" from a home improvement company.  The English language is still being abused.  Yesterday I heard about charges treason for both our President and the whistleblower base on the same 'evidence', Democrats 'play' with a foreign government, the essence of treason.  Woe is us again!

Murder, mayhem - a 9 yr. old speeding down a highway, a woman charging the wrong way down a freeway. a crime spree with 3 dead (with one burnt body) - irresponsibly rampant.  Woe is us!

What should an evangelical Christian do?  Convert to Catholicism, of course.

Help, a dictionary

"Climate change is already irreversible." said an AP science writer.  GO to the dictionary, dummy,  to find the definition of irreversible.  Since climate change ( global warming ) cannot be reversed it is useless to try to reverse the climate change ( global warning), dummy!  I can't brook this ignorance played out on the state of a leftist, political agenda.

More words challenges. 1.  Have you been overwrought by inventory?" a car dealership ad asks.

"A number of people that have to do their technique, " a football coach notes.

I am enjoying my - now-  3 life size animals,  Sheena the cheetah, Aslan the lion and Reckless the horse. Case for interest in current affairs, closed.

Ken Burn's 8 part, 16 hr. documentary on Country Music's history was masterful.

So dead

"Breathes there the man with soul so dead
That never to himself has said,
'This is my own, my native land...'

Oh yes there are plenty such men as Corey Booker who ended a sentence with these words, "that the future is staring at." So many brain dead specimens on the left, I left breathless.

Add to my names, please

Without drugs ( and the companies or venues that create, produce and distribute them, legally or no) where would our world be without its flawed geniuses such as Hank Williams, John Keats, Poe, Byron, Alexander,  Beethoven, Nietzsche, Saladin ... please add to my list.  Purdue has been bankrupted because of politically correct punishment from misplace guilt.   Personal responsibility and free will never enter into the conversation about 'bad' drugs.  Will we not be bankrupt as a people if don't allow the good, bad and ugly their places in the awful realm of possibility?

OUD

What the heck is OUD?  A neologism (phony) for Opioid use disorder.  Think junkie. Can't criticise or hurt anyone's feelings, right?  No, the left is responsible for all things wrong.  Sexual orientation is  not a gene but a choice according to the leftist extremist.  Life itself once was a choice not an echo of someone else's thinking. I saw a video of religiosity taking the form of praying to weeds and plants we as humans have abused. Rush Limbaugh takes another day off from his radio show.  Too bad we mortals cannot do the same from reality.

Drive electric?

This being "national drive electric week," what am I doing to participate?  Nothing.  I continue to note insanity over the airways.  1.   "They have color options to boot," from a home decorator. 2.   "The question I have are..." from a sports commentator.  It costs America 18 million dollars a detainee at Guantanamo! How can I sleep as a conservative when waste, waste, waste is endemic, systemic and epidemic? Beautiful fall weather, however.

Who wins?

Who earns the sadness of the day award? A soccer coach calling his adult players "kids and guys? A dead abortion Doctor's cache of 2200 "products of conception"?  An ad for a pizza joint saying, "buy ANY pizza at full price and get one at 1/2 price but this offer is NOT valid on our ... pizza?"  Alex
Tribeck dying of pancreatic cancer being overcome with depression now that after his 1st battle he enters his 2nd chemo battle? I'll vote for the last sad soul who cannot discern that his Lord is calling him home.

Goethe

Can't resist 2 more insanities before I  give  you the wisdom of the day.  Reporter mentions "terroristic" threat. Who invented this inaccuracy?  Then I hear GM workers want a "fair share of profits" as part of their threats in their current Union shakedown strike. What is a  fair share of that which they do not deserve as workers not owners? Sorry I asked.

Goethe: "The greatest happines of the thinking man is to have fathomed what can be fathomed, and quietly to reverence what is unfathomable." Do we have anything more insightful to add?

More I've heard

What's the "Wall Street propaganda machine?"  I heard it does terrible things. Can it be true that "we can't imagine a world without him (Eddie Money who just died)?"  I certainly can.  What will happen at the "opioid checkpoint"  I heard is being set up?  How can someone "Pervent a complaint?"  Oh yeah, the reporter means "prevent."

It's not just what I hear, it's what I read that is totally nuts. The head of the Carbon Management and Sequestration Center at Ohio State University (!) said it's unreaistict to remove even 6 billion tons globally including 1 billion in the U.S. That "won't absorb all or even most fossil-fuel emissions," he said.  Duh! What will restore power when outages occur from natureal disasters?

Hate fest

Hate, hate, hate, meanies screaming hate, 3 hrs of hate. Yes, I endured to the end of such a display of anti-American hate that I repeat, who would stand next to one of these Democrats?  Mouths moving without brains engaged. Beto wants to "legalize America."  He wants "predisaster mitigation grants." Cory says we "need a more courageous empathy."  He repeats, " we need a more courageous empathy." Elizabeth wants to "roll back the filibuster,"  Meaningless, regurgitation of inner hate, angst and punishing ideologies. Accusations of systemic racism with solutions to spend our way out of the "existential crises" we must now face. Outrage rankings are easy.   #1 Bernie, #2. Elizabeth, # 3 Cory and it goes uphill to #9 Wang and #10 Klobachar both who manifested a modicum of gratefulness to be an American. No amount  of liquid anesthesia could calm the hate of Gilead last night. Lord help us!

Thank God, dad Bernie and mother Elizabeth never dominated your life; fiction is better than fact.

How can you?

How can you say a chair will "fit you and your body?"  Doesn't a chair only fit your body because it's you?  How can a census worker "strengthen your community?  Doesn't the woman just ask your current address and occupants?  How can players "get us back to that moment"?  Do we know what that moment was or is in a game?  How can asylum seekers "petition in 3rd countries" according to what I heard about Trump's new policy?  What's a 3rd country?  How can a car not strike a body? Well, the news said the car struck the "pedestrian's body". What else would be available?  The 1st and subsequent statements I hear daily are not related to correct use of our language.  Lordy!

Short 'n sweet

A laugh a day keeps depression away?  Another erudite football coach in an interview commented on "a number of people that have to do their technique."  Short and sweet is my comment on pro and college sports' it echoes my man's opinion that we should "close all the schools."

Don't go back

Don't ever tell me you would like to go back to the  "good ole days."

..."the provident throne room of the Great Plains domicile.  He fondly remembered the unpainted walls kept bright with long strings of red peppers and great bushes of drying seed corn and garlands made with dried husks of popcorn, with tiny ears peeping downward.

The food was in the pattern of an American epic.  Venison was still plentiful, but to the delight of William, so were catfish, wild turkey, duck and quail.   Upon occasion there was buffalo meat, juicy and lusty red.  The perennial staples included dried beef, cornbread, jennycake, flapjacks, and buckwheat cakes, all in prodigious abundance.

Grease lamps with cotton flannel wicks still lighted many prairie homes.  Dried gourd dippers filled with dry corn or meal, beans or peas, and a score of other commodities adorned backwalls.  Giant outside kettles, high windmills, lye barrels for use in making hominy and soap, all were among the accoutrements of backyards - as were the hallowed big watering troughs, and split-log rack."

And don't forget the ubiquitous OUTHOUSE.   Gone, thank goodness are the "good ole days."

Turns of phrases

Speakers in the past, could turn a phrase.  That's why I (and others who share my taste) know, like and appreciate great speakers and writers.  Unequaled and unique are turns of phrase like William Jennings Bryan, the "silver-tongued orator's intoning,  "...you shall not press down upon the brow of labor the crown of thorns, you shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold."  Or Voltaire who suggested that "all doctors be strung up using the entrails of lawyers."  Or Elbert Hubbard who said, "Lawyers are the only people in whom ignorance is not punished," while concluding that a "friend is a masterpiece of Nature."

BUT today I hear Bob Evans farm's as saying that "We can change the way we live."  Or what about the "justice involved person mentioned on the radio? Criminal anyone? Language lost means ignorance gained.

more language abuse

Can't turn around or face front without another instance of language abuse. What was the occasion for talking about "homicidal violence of undetermined etiology."?  Oh yes, a student supposedly killed her newborn baby and a spokesperson was interviewed.  Why not just say we do not know the cause of death? Can life as we know it go on when misinformed protestors even in Canada disrupt the opening of a Chick-fil-e? Camping out for a sample or marching around annoyingly - why can't rational people just stay home?  The answer was obvious to me watching demonstrations on TV at the '68 Democrat convention that escalated into a riot. Peace be with you!

War on words

What does a 'war on words' mean? Well, when you hear a sentence or phrase that reeks of political correctness which per se is designed to mislead, distort or change the perception or meaning of a reality, I think of it as a 'war on words.'  What about an "opioid use disorder." I heard of this for the 1st time today.  Whence has this excuse for drug addiction as a condition for self-destruction?  What about "accessibility to lethal weapons"?  Whence did an excuse need to be found for someone's decision to kill?  Every commercial, I have noticed, misuses words to further its end.  Too many official spokespersons and  unscrupulous politicians engage in language that drives me to distraction.  The times have changed... Can't use hear a death knell tolling?

Racism in America?

Oh come on... Ezekiel Elliot, a 6 yr. 90 million dollar contract as the highest paid running back ( a contract obtained under blackmail?) for the Cowboys shows what... not racism in America but capitalism ( free market) at its best or worst, effective for sure. Another example would be the intro of the "slap-shot energy drink" at Tim Horton's.  Will it fly out the door?  Only time till tell if profit pays off in either case.  On which venture do you bet?

Do nothing

It's Labor Day;  do nothing.  Listen to the cock crowing, a dog barking, a crow cawing, voices on the radio reporting terrible news or lying about current social conditions (as usual).  Luckily there's an exception.  Labor ended happily in the Berlin Zoo with the birth of twin panda cubs.  What could be more uplifting?  An end to the slaughter of innocents by white males who have no moral compass?  Unfortunately being sad, getting sad today will get you nowhere.
