K ration

Hi. We watched a man eat an entire breakfast American K ration from 1943 after he unscrewed the lid of the tin can and proved the contents to be entirely OK to eat.  Biscuits, candy, drink, cigarette etc. Unbelievable. Also we watched this same man eat a C Australian ration -complete - for a special forces soldier to last him the entire day. Unbelievable again.  Much better than contemporary news such as the jerk running for president who spends 12 million dollars for ads at the Super Bowl saying "we need to deliver on the promise of the American dream."  I thought Trump has already done that?  Or the bathos - unending - after the recent tragic death of Kobe Bryant said to be a "punch in the gut of the nation."  Really?  Duh! We all will die but never know the time nor place. Duh! Hope you are OK out there. Rain, dreary, rain, dreary, rain, dreary, no sun of a week. Love Carolyn

We are the rubes of the world

We (2 geriatrics) are the rubes of the world. No old enough to rival the luddites of the left who continue to act like assh---- over the airways.  Young enough to still pursue truth, justice and the American way. Yes!

In 2019, 760 million days of paid vacation were unused last year by workers.  Yeah!

Get back your "natural functinal ability" with an ED pill.  Oh, how lost are we in America!

Leashes of Valor, a non-profit from a Marine with PTSD.  What do you think is my opinion?

1978

1978 pounds represents the amount of milk produced by one dairy cow. Wow! The amount is up from last year. Would a bovine do this all for the benefit of mankind or for her offspring?

Is  ''equal opportunity" the American dream?  Does this, therefore, mean that people with "different abilities" MUST be given a job?

The inexplicable ideology of God vs. an example of easily explainable leftist ideology.

FEATHERED ROACHES?

God minds even the Sparrows, but when I look out at my hanging bird feeder, I see only a mob of whirling feathered roaches, nibbling up all seeds.  Common is and common does in my entire world in the country. BUT, I still hear about "hardscape trends" from a home-improvement company and about "coffee ground in the moment" from a gas station ad.  Pathetic!  I await the 2nd day of the defense in the impeachment trial in Senate only to hope some pundit or talk show host, shortcuts for me the spectacle of words and just presents the nonsensical highlights. Pathetic!

Gaea speaks

There is global warming and climate change. The wettest year ever, the coldest month, the warmest week, etc., these are just ages-old  manifestations of Gaea.  She has proven that over the course of the planet's life, a century is just a blip.  I've kept daily weather records since 2003 - a mere 16 years in my neck of the woods - and climate changes have run the gamut. So silence, yourselves, purveyors of doom.  Gaea prevails. A man might be a 'work' but Gaea has been at work since the dawn of time.

Hurrah for Trump

Hurrah for Trump; ditto for modern science. For the 1st time, a President will address in person the March for Life Rally in Washington Friday, Jan. 24, 2020. Beginning a new decade appropriately. DNA samples have confirmed that the new coronovirus from China originated in snakes eaten in the wild animal market. Who knew? So hurrah for Trump who continues to do the right things while the Democrats wallow in the wrong things and China with its billion people persists in stupid behavior.

No such thing

Have you noticed that no such thing as a 'sport' exists? Everyone wants to win in spite of the efforts of leftist, socialist, progressives to make sure no one wins, all contestants being equal. A sporting game has been re-purposed, re-defined, remade as a do-or-die event. And some gamers do want other gamers to die. Well, each day I hear about a sporting event at which an aggrieved player picks up a chair to crown  an enemy combatant because he's lost control of the definition of a sport.

Have you noticed too that the Democrats in their impeachment trial totally resemble poor sports who can't admit defeat? Let's remind them that life is a game; some win, some lose. The better player obviously wins (absent cheating which is rare). Just saying the player cheated (Trump), however,  does not make truth untrue.

Two legs bad

Are the residents of Manor or Animal Farm holding court in the US Senate chamber today? Two legs are not good; four legs on insensate beings would obviously be better. How have we come to this parody of a Communist takeover satirized by George Orwell in his classic Animal Farm?  Truth and falsehood have been reversed by the Democrats in Congress for the purpose of installing a totalitarian takeover and ousting a beloved Snowball (or Boxer). The left keeps manuevering from 4-legged to 2-legged and back to 4-legged again. Whatever works, victims are irrelevant. If you haven't 'enjoyed' Orwell's masterpiece, be prepared to read and weep.

Six words

How should the Trump 'defense' team fight the 2 false charges of impeachment? 1. Abuse of power and 2. Obstruction of Congress - these six words like the 7 last words of Christ on the Cross should be dissected word by word to prove the case against the lies of the left. If you do not examine words for their meanings,  you'll get  hear words from a local hockey team that they won "5 straight wins in 7 and 8 years." 7 & and 8?  It can only be 7 or 8. Or this from a local funeral home consortium that guarantees 100% satisfaction."  For the dead or the living you ask?  Silly, right?  Finally, proof we're lost as a serious nation. The new pick of Cincinnati, winning LSU football quarterback Joe Barrow, better fix his mistake. He said he didn't like Cincinnati's Skyline chili.  OMG!  His career can't begin until he apologizes or fixes his 'mistaken' preference. Petty, right?
On to a philosophical observation for the day:  the more nannying ( punishing people's behaviour) the less good or noble behaviour you get.
Lauren, check out an hour conversation between Dave Rubin and Ravi Zacharias. Two thinkers.
Kyle,  congrats on putting some money away each paycheck ( month ) as investment in your future.  In the long run it will pay off; we know personally, how well this works. Love Carolyn

My New Year's resolution?

My  New Year's resolution?  I will try to remember that I in no way can imitate a saint like Joni Tada in her wheelchair, scribbling books of  'divine' messages, enduring bouts of pain and exemplifying with patience until Heaven calls her home. 1. I can't work myself up to scribbling something worthwhile, 2. I couldn't endure the  pain after trying 5 mg. of lisinopril (merely 2 doses) for my blood pressure;  I quit after one day of multitudinous trips with uncontrolled diarrhea to the toilet and 3. I have no patience, period. So nothing's new this year.
Who can face the travesty of our upcoming impeachment trial of President Trump?  The partisan divide will play itself out full of sound and fury signifying nothing of substance ending (?) 3 years of plotting by Democrats.
Wind and chilling cold is awful today. I feel better, however, after reading about a male nutjob who just walked alone across Antarctica. Apparently his testosterone went out of control early on his life and according to him, is not yet in need of a tubal ligation.  Not my kind of man!

NO ONGOING THREAT

Dead body found at construction site on OSU campus, but no "ongoing threat"... Duh! Under an income of $60,000 you can receive free tax preparation... Duh!  "Every heart deserves world-class care," says the Cleveland Heart Clinic.  I don't think so. Duh! Let's back up to the 1st example of  nonsense and proceed thru the 2nd and 3rd insanities. Nothing's new in the new year. Not a moment of common sense will hit you if you remain woke in our country today.

New Year New?

New Year, but what's new? Nothing. Why oh why do we have SO MANY films nominated for the Academy Award for best picture?  Reasonably, 3 should be the maximum number, but no new year's reform exists. Last year's nonsense is perpetrated with an unreasonable number of nominees.  Justice cannot possibly reign when the winner is selected.  Besides, virtually nothing Hollywood or the film industry could create would pass muster for a medium of worth.  That's my unanimous opinion and I'm sticking to it.  "Gremlins" for a $1.00 ( a fun film by the way) was the last theatre performance that I could justify then and going forward.

No improvement

Caught a few minutes of a silly home improvement company's radio show wherein a resident employee with a unwomanly, bimboesque and anti-feminine voice could not stop with the "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah and Yeah"s and the repeated use of "conversation" and "platform" in her interview. So, no, no improvement in class as 2020 begins.

Rumplestilskin

Heard of Rumpelstiltskin?  Let me fill you into him in this new decade commencing with 2020. Every media outlet, every pundit, every leftist Democrat, every bit of news so far that I have heard, spins  and spins and spins a negative take on Trump's drone killing of an Islamic terrorist pig.  Don't get me wrong. Everyone should be celebrating with laudatory fireworks but no, on a dime, the left can turn a positive into a negative, a good into a questioning, a Patton into a wish for a wimp.  Like Rumpelstiltskin spinning in his temper tantrum, our leftist enemies spin and spin themselves as Americans into the ground, unto death for which no rational, moral human should be proud.

Sad New Year!

Sad to say the new year is just like the old. More regulations, more rules, more lies and nonsense from the leftist liberals, more death and mayhem, another radio ad about "intuitive online dashboards," more  disclaimers on products like flushable wipes that "to avoid suffocation, keep plastic bags from children and pets."  Of course, children, pets and adults die every day from stupid, sad, malicious and unavoidable causes.  And the guy who dragged a victim to his death after an attempted theft of his laptop?  Our new year's  resolution for American justice should be to drag HIM to his death. Ring out the old; ring in the new.
