Two outrages

First outrage is typical result of a positive Covid test. He's feeling good and his family is OK. Second outrage is thousands of pounds of pet food delivered to shelters thanks to the government's CARE ACT. Welfare for animals too! I say 100 years is maximum time until the USA disappears as we know it today. Just another failed, famous, once rich and free nation. Down the tubes!

No Strunk & White

What should you do when you encounter such sophisticated, elegant and unintelligible writing that you cannot understand an article, an essay or a book review? Feel inferior? Here's an example from today's book review. The protagonist's "painful need for connection is searing." Memoirs today seem to seek the painful, revelatory and searing. They revel in angst. So heck no, don't feel inferior to the author's special ability. Just realize that most gifted writers are leftists, progressives,  Democrats, socialists, Communists or worse. The gift of 'gab' on paper seems to work out that way. Exceptions to the rule exist, of course, but on the whole, the classics of literature that stand the test of time, are not esoteric and unreachable. What sells and persists might not be perfect Strunk & White writing, but what enriches certainly is understandable and moving. I'm into Perestroika in Paris by Jane Smiley. So far, so good.

Best Christmas gift

My best Christmas gift and the only gift my husband and I did not give ourselves is the skull of a cow. A cow that had died. Yes, my beloved grandson knows how to touch my heart with something no one else could appreciate and admire for years to come. Yes, husband too. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We who have had Covid dare you to unmask.

Xmas

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

            At Christmas (2005)

Jesus is born again for us to revive,

To  smile as He smiled, to survive,

To amend our errors and apologize,

To glory in life and in family ties.

Life is lived one day at a time;

Take trips through tales.

Love is proved one act at a time;

So choose something nice.

God is known one wonder at a time;

As we await paradise.

After 800 years

How did it feel to see Saturn and Jupiter together after 800 years? No different. Cold, clear night, but not exactly an earth-shattering viewing. Two tiny bodies vibrating in close proximity. Onward to scrabble, equally unimpressive.

How likely

How likely are you to die from Covid-19? One chance in 106 - nope that's an auto accident. One chance in  2618 - nope that's choking on food. How about one chance in 3040? Yep! So into insanity and lockdown we went... Five Masses for 40 attendees each - how likely will Christmas  be appreciated by masked men and women? I'm anxious.

Covid Reserves

Let's just get it out of the way -  a rejection of ANYTHING heard over the radio. Buick has an "expectation shattering lineup." Football teams now have "Covid reserve" players. The big story is not vaccinations! Everyone "deserves a decent place to live" according to Habitat for Humanity. (NO WAY). And, anyone who writes for a center, forum, institute, school, review, or program is just an air-head elitist. An old moonshine mamma has more wisdom and common sense. Real America must be hiding somewhere inside the bubble of insanity or outside the world of reality. Either way. were lost.

It's not OK

             It's not OK

I heard it's OK to not feel OK.

Or sad, lost, angry or depressed.

No it's not. Since when is dysfunction

OK? But to seek help Is OK

According to another dishonest ad.

Words from the cross

        Words from the cross

The left is sinister, tried and true

To every policy, word and perversion.

They plan control of a compliant 'you,'

And beatings to force submission.

To His cry from the cross to the ignorant,

They shout, "Wrong, we, leave nothing to chance."

A $1000 gone

 One tooth, one root,

One thousand dollars spent.

One day, one night,

Most pain and trouble relent.

The end in sight, no way -

More cash for a crown another day.

No little Indians

                        LOST CENTURY

Into the valley death rode the one hundred.

Onto the chopping block, years of a franchise.

Hallowed with  honors come and gone,

Dumped out from stupidity,

Chased out of Cleveland history,

How can Americans let this go on?

Is it better?

Is it better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all?

Is it better to have had Trump than a backward-looking President?

Is it worse when a spouse dies or than you cannot justifying carrying on?

Is it worse to live in a dysfunctional home than an unhealthy Republic?

Is means life; was means death. Without light years of Trump's successes

We're about to be stifled and cursed without hope's breath.

Who killed Jesus?

Killed by consumption,

Weakened by markets,

Holy turned holiday,

Jesus died.

Saintly to secular,

Reason vs. seasonal madness,

Shopping vs. sacrifice,

Christmas died.

2000 injured

                Into the streets of death

Into the streets of death went the police.

Into the jaws of mobs and protesters

Bent on destruction. 2000 hurt,

Unnoticed by Democrats or raging minions.

Cared for, I, sure by God's dominions.

The Fall of America

            The Fall of America

The center of a society cannot hold

When culture, language and law

Fall into factions that mold

People into halves. First we've lost all

Moral foundation. Next we've broken

Into foreign tongues. Justice is just a token.

If Rome once rose but finally fell;

America, God forbid, heads for Hell.

No Kill shelters

Let me speak of the forever home fraud.

Not enough responsible humans exist

To save our planet's animals whether starving or free.

Not sufficient motivation backs the cause for neuter and spay.

Can funding justify no-kill, healthy but separated lives?

The end for some animals justifies the means

When juxtaposed with overwhelming numbers.

Stairway to Heaven

On the stairway to Heaven

Diversity reigns.

Whatever the calamity, however serious the pains

A step must be taken for ascent.

Most times a mystery is involved in the climb.

Rare the occasion when  grace will incline

The victim to humbly affirm and render consent.

December 7th 2020

            December 7th

December 7th in history -

An election's ignominy,

A Covid's misery,

A Republic's infamy,

Minerva's lost memory.

Betrayed

To what do I turn

When my d--- body betrays me?

To whom do I pray

Since only He knows what ails me?

Spent, perplexed and weak,

How do I cure me

When my body can't speak?

I can't go home again to youth;

I must go forward cursed with truth.

No thoughts

                No thoughts now

Buzz words, dog whistles, popular memes

    Wear down grace.

"Forever grateful," "on the front lines," politically correct themes.

    Mock any trace

    Of reason.

No idea now requires thought,

All words now are feelings wrought.

Falling Leaves

        FALLING LEAVES

We fall, swirl, drift, drop, ride the winds,

Rush to ground, behind cold waves, chills

And depravations of sun and light.

Where we stop our guardian knows.

Westward we're rushed to yards and cornered patios.

Piles, piled up, we reckon that raking or cursing will whoosh us away.

We're fiery red, orange, brown, yellow useless things now.

Crisp, worn-out - though often each one of us falls

Alone, silently to earth. God only knows how each fall ends.

A Haiku

            A Haiku

    The Devil defines

His duplicity with  lies.

    Hold your freedom dear.

First Snow

            First Snow

Frozen out -

My 4 or more furred foodies

And feathered friends -

Of welfare seed, suet, samples of

Meat, kibbles, processed feasts.

Their needs a snowy oversight

Negated overnight.

One time and more plights

Of hunger beckon them.

Ice and snow, a show of

Truth and Beauty.

But it is winter now.

Believe N0000000000000 radio ad

Believe NO ad on radio. This fact was cemented on to my Blog when I heard that "natural feeling is my passion," from some female ninny about her product. Case for dishonest product or non-profit advertising closed.

Mongols

                    1200

The Mongols are coming

The Mongols are coming

Losers are liquidated

Losers are eliminated

Can we know they did it?

The proof is history.

                2020

The left has won

The left has won

Losers are enslaved

Losers are enraged

Can we know they stole it?

The proof's a mystery.
