Both insult intelligence

What do car leasings and organic foods have in common?  Both insult intelligence.  When a rational person is encouraged to lease a new Infiniti for $399. a month or spend at least 2 to 3, possibly 4 times as much for a food item - and consents - does this not represent an insult to intelligence?
Money resides at the root of all evil when it is wasted.  Organic apples at $2.49  lb can routinely be purchased safely without a phoney label at 3 lbs. for $1.99. Organic cookies need not be $4.39 but $.99.  How can a $1.79 French baguette not be organic?  Mac & Cheese, that all-American staple in a $.25 box,  now rates an organic $2.69?  Finally, those free ‘dirty’ brown eggs our family plucked from underneath not-too-clean chickens ( with decidedly better tasting yolks) are priced at $4.99 a doz. at Whole Foods.
Come on! Out of the chicken coop flew the intelligence of too many Americans. What say you?
