annus mirabilis

The attack was supported by 400 guns per mile along a 35-mile front connecting Smokensk, Minsk and Warsaw.  Operation Bagration by Russia was intended to utterly destroy the German  Army Group Center and thus open the way to Berlin in 1944 World War II.

1944 was annus mirabilis in today’s Russia. During Bagration, Soviets killed 381,000 Germans, wounded 384,000, destroyed 2000 tanks, 10,000 guns and 57000 motor vehicles.  Compared to the American victory in Falaise pocket, this was 10 times the size.

You can always count on Mother Russia  to be, think, kill, suffer, lie, write, win, lose and live LARGE.
