Bi-polar America

No cure is in sight, unfortunately, for our bi-polar America. Extremes persist. Ultra-leftists like the PSA, the Party of Socialism and Liberation with front groups subverting freedom and capitalism, persist in the advancement of their ‘causes.’ And they receive news coverage. Tea parties across America to protest Obama’s agenda of socialism and liberation from capitalism, garner no notice from journalists or the press. Thank goodness for the Internet where information flows. Another, albeit banal example of bi-polar behavior is the existence of entrepreneurial businesses offering "spa experience packages." These liberal but capitalistic endeavors ironically contrast with calls from conservatives for restrictions on hedonism in daily living.

Bi-polar implies extremes but more than that it represents hypocrisy within the extremes. We who have eyes that see and brains that process reality are worried about this phenomenon because our bi-polar counterparts pervert reality. Liberal arts and humanities curricula in colleges and universities teach and preach nothing but liberal, political ideology. The great ideas in works of literature, history, philosophy, sociology and sometimes even science, have gone bye-bye. Jared Diamond explores the future of the human animal in his book "The Third Chimpanzee." A worthy bi-polar quest indeed!
