Depressing realities

Depressing realities Obama has a dismal understanding of economics. Dismal comes from 2 roots, meaning ‘bad day,’ an unlucky day. The term ‘dismal science’ might come from the Scottish writer, essayist and historian Thomas Carlyle to describe the discipline of economics. The term dismal science was inspired by T. R. Malthus' gloomy prediction that population would always grow faster than food, dooming mankind to unending poverty and hardship. Those who doubt the story say Carlyle was reacting not to Malthus but economists such as John Stuart Mill who argued that institutions, not race, explained why some nations were rich and others poor. Parents riot at a local bittybasketball game; game cancelled. Where are the adults? Blacks weren’t starving ( for food or God) before the Civil Rights movement in the South. Today they are often overweight AND starve because their only healthy food - God- was gradually taken out of their culture. General George Patton, a seriously flawed but great man, can still be quoted for inspiration and good advice. “Genius is the immense capacity for taking pains. Always do more than is required of you. Death...is not the taps of death but first call to the reveille of eternal life. We live in deeds not years. You can be what you WILL to be.
