Super Tuesday

How super is a Tuesday with a pain patch, heating pad, pain pill and intermittent sciatica paralytic episodes? Not super! Reinhold Niebuhr had it right when he said: "The hero defies malignant power to assert the integrity of his soul. He suffers because he is strong, not weak. Our pity is because it does not weep for itself." Oh that I could live heroically or at least for a moment. So far, failing.

However, I knew a heroic cat; undaunted in the face of malignant powers of nature, driven to preserve its life in spite of unwelcome costs. The end inevitable, however.  And of course, sad.
