Keep it short and sweet because in 1828, Eliza Farrar observed that Americans excelled in verbal “fluency,” but few had trained themselves to become “correct and methodical thinkers,” and many were given to “careless and thoughtless volubility.”  Obviously nothing has changed.  Merry Christmas, 2014.
