Proof of God The degree of divinity is proportionate to the degree of being; therefore, that is most of all divine which is most of all being. This thought first was expressed by Plato; then Christians perfected the idea of God as Being. Obviously, ideas matter. Or do they? From the proof of God to the acceptance of His Being, we now have 250,000 people a month applying for disability payments. How could the idea of a need reached such proportions? Our government spends ( robs other taxpayers of their money) to the tune of $260 billion dollars a year for SSI, i.e., disability payments. Most payments, of course, are unjustified. It is a sad age that loses all its memories. We have forgotten self-reliance and personal responsibility. We have lost the ability to distinguish what is right from what is wrong. Truth lies at the bottom of national wastebin. Etienne Gilson wrote in 1936: “ Let us rather hope that truth in its eternal youth shall keep our minds always young and fresh, full of hope for the future and of force to enter there.” Fat chance! 29 million citizens on disability?
