I heard an ad for an herbicide called “syngenta.” A proponent of gay marriage admitted that at first he was turned off because gay marriage was “hetero imitative.” Washington state hopes to pass its “reproduction equity act.” Clever, meaningless words and names and jingoistic newspeak hurt us. What is to be done? Ohio State’s Gordon Gee and New York’s Mayor Bloomberg are two small men who need to make up for their mental and moral smallness by wielding power over the ‘little people.’ A third small man, Pres. Obama, will deliver the commencement speech at this year’s Ohio State University Graduation. Why? Gee inspired Obama with his upcoming total ‘no smoking rule’ on campus which will make OSU the poster child for tobacco- free, healthy living. How could the big O refuse? Bloomberg would be proud. What is to be done? Remember, healthy and green are part of the lost language cause. A gay couple says that their children should not live in a “less-than environment” and I say that a public service announce does a disservice to a rational human being.
