THE VERB

"WE ARE NOT RETREATING. WE ARE MERELY ATTACKING IN ANOTHER DIRECTION," SAID MARINE GENERAL SMITH IN 1950 IN KOREA. " WE MUST CHANGE DIRECTIONS AND RE-DEPLOY OUR TROOPS," SAY LIBERALS IN 2007. THE KEY WORD "ATTACK" SETS THE TONE FOR VICTORY RATHER THAN DEFEAT. THE WORD RE-DEPLOY IS MERELY A SYNONYM FOR SURRENDER.
ANOTHER DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEN AND NOW IN WAR, IS THE VERB. THE VERB WAS USED (AND NATURALLY ABUSED) BY A CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER ALLEN CARLSON WITHIN EARSHOT OF HIS TIRED AND DOWN-TRODDEN MARINES IN KOREA AS A MORAL BOOSTER. ..."THAT VERB, THAT SINGLE, UGLY, FOUR-LETTER WORD," ... "LIES EMBEDDED LIKE A DIRTY, RECURRENT JEWEL IN THE MOSAIC OF MARINE PROFANITY." OFFICER CARLSON APPLIED IT " TO THE DRIVER, TO HIS ANCESTORS, TO HIS TRUCK AND HIS HOWITZER, AND REPEATEDLY TO HIS RETREATING BACKSIDE." ... THAT VERB, "CONQUERED, AS IT OFTEN DOES, AND THE COLUMN MOVED ON." SUCH INSPIRATION COMES FROM LECKIE'S BOOK, THE MARCH TO GLORY.

WE DON'T HEAR ENOUGH OF THE VERB TODAY AS QUOTED BY OUR WARRIORS ATTACKING THE ENEMY. RATHER THE ENEMY FROM WITHIN ATTACK OUR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, ATTACK CONSERVATIVES FOR THEIR UNACCEPTABLE IDEAS AND ATTACK INTEGRITY AND CHARACTER THAT RUN COUNTER TO THEIR OWN AGENDA.

LET'S AGAIN SEND THE VERB (F...) REVERBERATING NOT THROUGH THE HILLS OF NORTH KOREA BUT ACROSS THE GLOBE TO THE ISLAMIC TERRORISTS WHO WITH THEIR DEMONIC SCREAMS, LIKE THE PAST COMMUNIST CHINESE AND NORTH KOREANS, WANT US DEAD.
