YUCKY FOOD + CHECK FOR $16.3 BILLION = BAD TASTE

Students caught sneaking outlawed salt shakers into Lunchroom.

How would you make the inedible $16.3 billion government lunch program more nutritious and economical?  Eliminate it, and simply allow parents (one or two) to pack for their children, a peanut butter & jelly sandwich and an apple and provide a few cents for a carton of whole milk (white or chocolate). Sometimes, the old ways are the best ways. Allergies? Never heard of them in yesteryear.  Did I mention that breakfast and dinner are parental obligations too? Snacks?  Let’s not be scrooges - moderate provisions allowed.
