Shakespeare said all things first and best

Shakespeare said all things first and best:
“When I bestride him, I soar; I am a hawk: he trots the air.  The earth sings when he touches it.  The basest horn of his hoof is more musical than the pipe of Hermes.”  Whatever his specific poetic source, Shakespeare best expresses the allure of the horse.
The sodden speeches of our President Obama’s never soar.  I pity (merely in the poetic sense) a foolish supporter of  Mr. TOTUS.  The genuine rush can only be felt and treasured like a man (or woman) flying via a Pegasus.
