“Duty is the essence of manhood.”

“Duty is the essence of manhood.” So spaketh George S. Patton. What you might ask is the duty of a child, a student, a parent, a citizen? Seems to me, that too many Americans have relinquished their manhood (and womanhood) to alternative beliefs and behavior. $1.03 trillion dollars is now being spent on 83 welfare programs ( excluding S/S and Medicare). Over the last 30 years, this represents a 375% increase. These bucks are enough to cash out every person in poverty for one year. Yet today the poverty rate at 14% - defined any way government chooses - is the same as the rate in 1964. Why you ask? Duh... given a pie of 100%, there must per se be a bottom, a top and a middle. The poor and the rich will always be with us even though each percentile moves up and down and around. The circle of life?
