BEES' DAY

MAYDAY, MAYDAY, IT’S A FINE SPRING DAY TODAY FOR SWARMS - THE RAISON D'ETRE FOR BEES. I WITNESSED FOUR SWARMS, BUZZING BUT ORGANIZED MEANDER UNTIL THEY HUNG QUIETLY IN SELECTED PLACES IN MY BACK YARD. THREE DARKENED THE BRANCHES OF TREES; ONE HOVERED ON THE GROUND. THOUSANDS OF WORKERS SURROUNDED THEIR RESPECTIVE QUEENS, LIKE BEES TO HONEY, THEIR MISSION TO PERPETUATE A HONEY-COMBED LIFE. THIS MYSTERY OF SWARMS AND THE COMMUNAL LIFE OF BEES, CONTINUE TO FASCINATE APIARISTS AND APPRECIATORS. BEARS AND MAN ALIKE, DELIGHT IN THE SWEET GOLD OF HEAVENLY HONEY. ONLY THE CREATOR OF BEES UNDERSTANDS THEIR RAISON D’ETRE.
