AILUROPHILE
I’M NO AILUROPHOBE. I'VE LIVED A CAT BOX LIFE. THROUGH THE THICKNESS OF PREGNANCIES, THROUGH THE THINNESS OF CAREERS, AFTER 41 YEARS OF CONSISTENT LITTER DUTY, I CALCULATE THAT I'VE BOWED TO MY MISSION A MINIMUM OF 15,000 TIMES. OF COURSE, THAT NUMBER ACCOUNTS FOR TENDING TO A SOLITARY CAT; OVER THE YEARS, I’VE SCOOPED FOR MANY A KITTY. I'VE PAID A PRICE FOR SERVITUDE. BESIDES MY DAILY TRIP TO A CLEANING STATION, I PAID MY TOLL WITH RESIGNATION TO CAT HAIR AS A PERMANENT COMPANION ON MY CLOTHES, BEDDING, FURNITURE, RUGS AND FOOD. YET I'VE ADMIRED NUMEROUS VARIATIONS OF ODORLESS AND NON-IRRITATING COATS. MY ONLY FEAR OF FUR HAS BEEN THAT OF IT FLYING IN CAT FIGHTS. I'VE BEEN REWARDED BY ACCESS TO DIFFERENCES IN FELINE FACES, FORMS AND FUNCTIONS. MY CATS HAVE WILLINGLY COMPROMISED THEIR FREEDOMS. WE HAVE FEARLESSLY RECIPROCATED FULL MEASURES OF DEVOTIONS AND AFFECTIONS
